We are excited to have been featured in the 200th Swarf & Chip Show which was seen live on their YouTube last month on 23rd October. In this very special 200th Swarf & Chips show the MTDCNC and Swarf & Chip team visited us at GBS to find out how our beautiful cars are manufactured from fabrication, CNC machining and all the way to the final assembly. We then took the Zero’s to Blyton Park race track for a Swarf and Chips fastest lap competition! GBS & Kit Spares Second Lockdown update...

Dear all,

We hope you and your families are keeping well in this difficult time that we find ourselves in.

We appreciate your patience and continued support through this difficult and uncharted times. As an independent business we value your continued support now more than ever. We continue and have been doing all we can to support our suppliers & partners in this time and most importantly look after our customers and staff. As a team we are staying positive and using this as an opportunity making adjustments to how we work.  

Whilst our Kit Spares and GBS Showroom is now closed from 5th November until December, we are still doing appointment only visits, for you to come and look at the Zero. We have put appointment only visits in place so we can control the volume of people to ensure minimum contact, with social distancing rules maintained throughout your visit. Parts orders can also still be placed on line on our website www.kitspares.co.uk or from our Kit Spares eBay Shop or please give us a call. We are also doing arranged collection of orders, but these must be confirmed via phone or email with the Kit Spares team.
Also, good news is that our workshop is open for necessary vehicle repair and servicing, IVA preparation etc. As a team we have taken all necessary precautions during this difficult time, so if you are needing necessary work, please get in contact to see how we can help you and also look to get it booked in.

We are sad that we are not able to hold our annual Christmas Cars & Coffee (mince pie) event this year but hope that 2021 will be a better one for us all. We already have lots of exciting things planned that we hope we can all enjoy together including our first Cars & Coffee event of 2021 which we are planning to happen in March, click here for more details about that event. Nice Zero's with us in the GBS Workshop & Self build Kits collected....

Its has been a busy few weeks and months in the GBS Workshop with several Zero’s and other sports cars coming and going, that have been with us for various works including the IVA Test that we offer. These four Zero’s have all now been IVA tested and are now waiting for the registration to come through. The next two months are also looking very busy as we have more IVA tests booked for several Zero’s and other sports cars and also two very nice factory built Zero’s, which we will share more details with you soon.

Our IVA Service is now back up and running nicely after a slight delay with appointments being cancelled due to Covid-19. Please get in touch if you would like more details or to book your car in with us for the IVA Service that we offer.
We also offer Geometry Set Up & Corner Weights which can massively improve the handling of your sports cars, along with upgrades, Servicing, Maintenance, MOT, Track day Checks and Preparations, Repairs, Build Completions and much more. Autumn Run Out in the Zero's... Thank you for joining us.

On Saturday (24th October) we enjoyed a run out in the Zero’s where we all met at GBS in the car park to then enjoy a drive out in the Zero’s together. The route that we planned was around 50 miles which was through some lovely villages and country roads finishing in a nice idyllic location in the countryside where we took the opportunity to take some photos. The weather was perfect for us and the rain held off until late afternoon, we would like to thank you all for joining us and making it such an enjoyable morning.

We have really missed hosting and exhibiting at events this year and we can’t wait until we can do more hopefully next year. But we are pleased that we had the opportunity to have a run out in the Zero’s safely and we look forward to doing it again soon. We have also confirmed our date for the 2021 GBS Cars & Coffee which can be seen on our event page.

Filming at GBS with MTDCNC for their Swarf & Chip 200th Anniversary.....

Earlier this month we welcomed the MTDCNC team to GBS to do some filming for their Swarf & Chip 200th episode which can be seen this Friday. They spent most of the day with us filming around the GBS Factory including the GBS Machine Shop and Workshop.

Last week we spent the day at Blyton Park Race Circuit with the MTDCNC team filming the Zero’s out on the track for their Swarf & Chips 200th episode that can later this week. We took with us our two Zero demonstrators and each of the team did a lap to see who could get the fastest time, as well all being taken out for fast laps with the GBS Team. We are pleased to also be featured as a case study on Cadspec website to see how Autodesk Software is used within GBS, click here to see more. We also look forward to working with Cadspec and Autodesk next month when they will be visiting us to do some filming with all the GBS Team.

NEW DATE RELEASED - GBS Cars & Coffee (& Cake) Event 2021.....

We are excited to be planning our first GBS Cars of Coffee event of 2021.
The first Cars & Coffee event of 2021 is happening on Saturday 27th March.... As many of you know everyone at GBS has a strong passion for cars and anything to do with motorsport and we love our Cars & Coffee events and Track Days etc. But sadly, this year we have not been able to host and exhibit at any events due to Covid-19.

So we thought we would plan for 2021 and have something for us to look forward too, when hopefully the Covid-19 situation will be better and things are back to more normality. We will confirm next year that this event is safe to happen, but we hope you will be able to join us, we can’t wait to see you all and welcome you back!
 
The GBS Cars & Coffee event at GBS was created in 2016 and has since been a massive success & we have continued to hold the event again for several years now. Our Cars & Coffee ( & Cake) events often see our car park overflowing with many different sports cars, the event is also becoming renowned for its home made cakes!

Its an event that we have created that gives the chance for you all to have a ride out in your sports cars / meeting point and enjoy a coffee (plus biscuits/ cake of course) and chat about your cars, all are welcome to join us in any car (modern or classic including bikes).

Help us make Saturday 27th March the best GBS Cars & Coffee event yet & raise more money for two great charities…. We will be collecting for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance & Cancer Research.

We will announce more details next year, and will do all we can to make sure the event can go ahead safely, all the GBS team look forward to seeing you all.

The options on the Zero’s are endless and each Zero that you see is different in many ways. We recently had three stunning factory built Zero’s with us in the workshop and took the opportunity to photograph them together. Each Zero is tailor built to each customer’s specification with your choice of appearance trim and accessories making each car truly unique to its owner.

The Red Zero is our demonstrator and the other two are now both registered and on the road being enjoyed by their new owners. These Zero’s are all very different to each other, and have many areas of personalisation from the wheels and tyres to the engine set up. GBS Run Out in the Zero’s…… Come & join us in your Zero!

We have really missed hosting and exhibiting at events this year and we can’t wait until we can. But we are pleased to be looking to arrange a run out in the Zero’s which we would like to invite all our Zero owners to join us on.

We are planning this to happen on Saturday 24th October where we will meet at GBS to then enjoy a drive out in the Zero’s together. Covering around 50 miles finishing in a nice idyllic location in the countryside.

We will be following social distancing rules and to avoid a large gathering in one place we will be meeting outside in the GBS Car Park where you will be in your Zero.

New Zero collected & more waiting to return from paint.....

Another stunning Zero left the factory today, we were delighted to welcome GBS Customer Nicola Neal back to GBS this morning on her 50th Birthday to collect her brand new factory finished Zero GT. Many of you that have recently visited the GBS Factory may have seen this stunning orange Zero being built, its powered by a 2L Zetec and has a lot of our ATR Products upgrades fitted including the Suspension, front brakes, Throttle Bodies and much more.

We look forward to receiving photographs from Nicola enjoying her new car, and joining us at our next GBS Cars & Coffee event and other events that we are planning.

Cadspec & MTD visit us to discuss exciting new joint projects….

As many of you know we have a full in-house design, development, and manufacturing facilities including our CNC  machines and we have recently moved onto a new software and are now pleased to be using feature cam software from Autodesk, which is very impressive and working well and helping us develop our design and product range.

Last week it was great to welcome Michael from Cadspec to GBS to come and have a look at how we are getting on with our new feature cam software from Autodesk and to see what we are up to and also to discuss a joint project that we are going to be doing. This week we also welcomed Giovanni and Joe from MTD to take a look around GBS and shared with them what we are doing, they also enjoyed a test drive in our demonstrator in which they were very impressed with.

We have lots of exciting manufacturing and engineering is underway along with some other very exciting things that we are planning together, we look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Zero Self Build Collections and Upgrades…..

Its been a busy start to the month for us with Zero self build kit collections, and the workshop has been busy too with lots of very nice spec Zero’s with us for various works.

On Saturday it was nice welcome Ben Whitrow and his family back to GBS, as they came to collect their Mazda Zero race self build. Ben and his family visited us earlier this year on Ben’s 14th Birthday to place their order and finalise the spec of Ben’s Zero Build which was his birthday present. Ben has the Mazda donor car already and is very excited to start his Zero Mazda Build, which he very much looks forward to driving in a few years when he is 17. We look forward to following Ben’s build and seeing it progress and sharing with you all.

Nice to have this customer’s Zero with us last week that he has recently bought and has been enjoying and wanted a few upgrades doing to it. It was with us for a few days for the ATR Product Front Brake Upgrade Kit fitting which is now a very popular upgrade for the Zero’s. Also new seats, gauges and more have been ordered for it so it will be coming back soon for more upgrades. We are pleased to also have several IVA appointments booked for this month, so we look forward to seeing more Zero’s on the road very soon.

Zero Self Build Kit Collected & another Zero being enjoyed.....

Last week it was nice to welcome Robin and Charley to GBS to collect their new Zero Mazda self build which they ordered at the beginning of lock down. This is going to be a father and son project for them to enjoy together, the Zero is an ideal and popular project for Father and Sons to enjoy together. Another GBS Customer Robin Copley who collected his new factory built Zero from us earlier this year in January has now covered several thousand miles and is always out and about enjoying it when he can. We are excited to be finalist in the Newark Business Awards....

We are excited to be finalists in the Business Innovation category for this year’s Newark Business Awards. Last month the finalists in the ten categories for the Newark Business Awards were revealed and we were delighted to be selected as one of the finalist for the Business Innovation Category. Next month the judges will be interviewing the team and then the decision of the overall winners for each category will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in October at Newark Showground. We are pleased to welcome a new member to the GBS Team.....

We are pleased to welcome 16 year old Will Wightman to join us at GBS as our new Apprentice. Will who was a student at the at The Dukeries Academy in Ollerton, Newark, is going to be studying Engineering at West Notts College in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire one day a week, which is due to hopefully begin later this year in November.  Will is going to be based mainly in the workshop, but has already enjoyed days spent in each area of GBS to get an understanding of what we do and to learn about the components that we design and manufacture for the Zero.

We have a fantastic team here at GBS who like Will all have a strong passion for all types of Motorsport. Will also enjoys restoring and playing around with cars and parts in his own time, including his own cars and motorbikes that he has at home to work on.
Hopefully you will all get to meet Will and see the rest of the GBS team later this year at some point.

Zero out on the track & something a little different in the workshop.....

It was nice to receive these action photographs ( Photogrpahy by @frozenspeed ) from Ivan and David who recently enjoyed their Zero Race on a track day at Spa, where they said there Zero Race performed really well. Ivan and David often join us on our GBS Track Days and we look forward to seeing them again very soon on the next GBS Track Days. The GBS Workshop is always busy and we often have a nice selection of Zeros in there, but this week we have something a little different in the GBS workshop. We have this Repco Brabham with us for engine, electrical and custom works, the owner also has a Zero and we look forward to completing the work on this Brabham then testing it out on the track. New Zero delivered & another waiting for first registration.....

This stunning factory built Zero is now all registered and ready to go. This week we are excited to be delivering it to the customer. This is a very nice spec Zero that is powered by the 2.5 Duratec engine and has many optional extras and upgrades fitted. We look forward to receiving photos from the new owner enjoying his new Zero and look forward to him joining us on GBS Track Days and at our Cars and Coffee events in the future. This very nice spec Zero also passed its IVA test last week and is just now waiting for the customer to come and visit and have there final fitting before it is all signed off. Then its just the registration that we are waiting for, which is going to be registered from September.

Zero Self Build arrives in Canada & another delivered......

Now that we can welcome to you GBS Factory (by appointment only) Kit collections are able to happen again and we are pleased to be now back on schedule with Zero self-build collections. We have had several Zero self builds collected over the last few weeks, including the delivery of a Mazda Self Build kit to GBS Customer Liam Anderson in Northampton. We always recommend when possible collection for self builds and a visit to the factory, but we realised that this is not always possible and often a delivery is better suited.
We were also pleased to have received an email from GBS Customer Colin Marzoff in Canada earlier this week to say that his Zero Mazda kit had arrived last weekend. Its all set out in his garage ready for the build to begin, we look forward to receiving more photographs and seeing these Zero builds progress.
