Run out in the Zero demonstrator to Caffeine & Machine….

On Saturday we had an early start with a run out in the Zero demonstrator to the Caffeine Machine which is based in Warwickshire. The coffee house has a licence bar and restaurant, boutique and art gallery, we have heard a lot of good things about this venue, and we were pleased to finally have been able to visit.

It attracts all sorts of sports cars, classic restorations, bikes and much more. On arrival you are greeted by the team and directed to where to park. We were allocated prime location in front of the house and the Zero attracted a lot of attention whist it was parked up. We look forward to going back again soon and planning a trip for you all to join us in your Zero’s.

It was a great drive in our Zero demonstrator that is powered by a 2.5 Duratec, the weather was perfect with a few black clouds which passed, we managed to miss the rain!

GBS Team enjoy an evening at Cadwell Park with the Zero....

Earlier this week our Zero Mazda demonstrator was busy being prepared for a track day. The GBS Team enjoyed an evening at Cadwell Park with the Zero, its been a busy few months for all the team and it was nice to have an afternoon / evening all together enjoying the Zero and other cars out on the track.

We had two GBS track days booked earlier this year at Blyton Park and Donington Park but due to Covid-19 they were both cancelled. Its great that the circuits are now re open and hopefully spectators will be allowed back soon. We look forward to being back out on the track with you all in your Zero’s hopefully later this year. Keep a look out on our events page and social media which is all updated regularly.

What engine and spec would you have in your Zero….

The Ford Zetec / Duratec and Mazda are the most popular engine option for the Zero’s. We have specific engine mounts on the shelf for a wide selection of engines and have the capabilities to work with you to create a special instillation for an engine of your choice for your Zero.

The Zero is unique among Seven Type cars in having its engine mounted further back in the chassis giving much better weight distribution and balance to the car.

Currently in the workshop we have two very nice new factory built Zero’s one powered by a Ford 2.5L Duratec and the other by a Ford 2L Zetec engine, both of stunning spec and fitted with many optional extras and upgrades. One is due to be delivered to the customer anytime and the other is awaiting its IVA test which is scheduled for next week.

Want a Zero..... But have no garage, then don’t let that stop you!

We often get people say that they would love a Zero, but have no garage/workshop or anywhere for it to live. It was great to see what a new Zero owner has created who was in that position of having no garage or shelter for a Zero. GBS owner Conner Doyle created his very own custom made wooden garage / shelter for his new Zero from recycled pallet wood, which looks fantastic and does the job nicely. 

A few years ago we also had a young customer who built his Zero in a gazebo, at the side of his parents house, a Zero really can be built and stored nicely without a garage or workshop. There is no excuse!!
We also love to see photos of your Zero builds progressing, so why not send them to us and we can share them on here and with others.

Its nice to now be able to welcome customers back to see us to collect their Zero self build kits, and last Friday we were pleased to welcome back Philip Walsh from Bournemouth to collect his Zero Mazda Self Build kit. The next few weeks are also looking busy with Zero kit collections and we have several Zero chassis that recently came back from powder coating waiting in the dispatch bays for collection.

Busy Workshop & NEW Brake Calipers, see them being installed on a Zero....

The GBS Workshop is very busy and we currently have some very nice Zero’s and other sports cars in there, that are with us for various works including the IVA Service that we offer. NEW Zero build soon to be registered and enjoyed on the road....

Many of you that have visited recently would have seen this stunning Zero build being built, we are pleased to say that it has recently passed its IVA Test and is now awaiting registration and then collection. This Zero is similar spec to our Zero demonstrator which is also powered with 2.5l duratec on the ATR Products Throttle Bodies. We have another nice factory built Zero waiting for its IVA test along with many others that are soon to be tested. Each factory built Zero is hand built to your individual specification, we look forward to welcoming the owner of this new Zero back to the factory very soon for his final fitting, test drive and hand over.

Customers Zero is upgraded and transformed....

A few weeks ago GBS customer David Jacklin sent us some photographs of his Zero which he recently had professionally wrapped transforming it into a stunning car. It was also with us in the workshop a while ago where it had the new upgraded heated seats fitted that we now offer, along with the ATR Suspension and Carbon Fibre Trims.

GBS Customer Simon Britten also sent us some photographs of his Zero being enjoyed, that we prepared and presented to IVA last year. Yesterday we received a photograph from the Crossland Brothers who’s Zero is progressing nicely and is now on its wheels and we were pleased to hear that they started the engine for the very first time over the weekend. Their Zero is also now all booked in for our IVA Service and will be with us in the workshop soon for IVA preparations. Zero Self Build on the way to USA & another USA Zero build looking good....

Last week this very nice painted Full Component Zero Self Build Kit was collected and is now on the way to its new owner Sean Wally in USA. Its estimated to arrive in the USA beginning of July, we will share more photographs and updates of its arrival in USA and on the build as it progresses. We are now busy getting another Zero Self Build ready for collection that will be going to a new customer in Canada that will hopefully be collected end of this week / early next week.

Another GBS Customer Brandon Kemmerer over in the USA took delivery of his new Zero Race Self Build in January this year, and its great to see that it is progressing well.

Brandon said “Things are progressing very well. The body is nearly complete, I got the motor dropped in a few weeks ago, and I've been playing with wiring since. I'm waiting on a few items I've ordered to finish off the interior, namely gauges and harnesses but all the interior panels are fitted. Things seem to be going well. It'll be a little bit before it's on the road, but little by little it's getting there”.

Always great to see Father & Son's enjoying their Zero builds together.....

GBS Customers Mike and Dougie Spalding (father & son) Dropped their Zero Race car off with us earlier this week. Their Zero Race is going to be fitted with a 2L Eco Boost engine so its with us for all of the wiring and electrical set up to be done. Dougie had this Zero Race in July 2014 for his 14th Birthday and is now keen to get it completed and up and running to enjoy out on the track. This is their second Zero as Mike and Dougie built a road Zero which was completed in July 2012, which together they have enjoyed many track days and road trips including travelling around Europe. You may have also seen them in their Zero at many of our GBS Track Days and Cars & Coffee events.

Its also nice to see Jerry and Matt Haller who are another father and son building a Zero, their Zero build is progressing well with their Duratec engine recently being installed. Matt & Jerry’s Zero is painted in a stunning blue with a black stripe which you may have seen featured on our Blog when it first came back from paint. We look forward to receiving more photographs as their build progresses and seeing them out on the road enjoying it.

Collection of photographs of a Customers Zero photographed in Norway...

Last week we shared photos with you of GBS customer Peer Moberg from Norway Zero build which has recently been registered in Norway. Peers took his new Zero on a photo shoot and shares some of the photographs with us, which look amazing.

Peer’s Zero features - LHD Standard Sport Chassis, 2.5ltr Ford Duratec engine, with ATR Throttle Bodies, Life ECU, Painted with Stripes, Carbon Fibre Bodywork Pack, Rear Diffuser, Momo Steering Wheel and Quick Release Boss, Heated windscreen, ATR Suspension and ATR Brakes.

The Zero range is available in both right and left hand drive due to its symmetrical design and has already been sold and registered into France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, Greece, Siberia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, America and Southern Ireland. Another Zero registered & road legal in USA....

Great to receive some good news and photographs from one of our customers in USA earlier this week. As of Friday, 15 May 2020, GBS Zero (chassis #509) built by Michael Etzel was made a road legal vehicle.

A VIN by the State of Iowa and a Title was issued and Mike is allowed to display the number plates we had made for him.

Mike Says “I want to again thank you and the GBS team for all of the assistance during the build. I enjoyed the build immensely, the visit to GBS was awesome. “

Last July we welcomed Mike and his wife to the GBS Factory while they were over in the UK. Mike and his wife spent a morning with us and enjoyed a full factory tour and test drive in our Zero Mazda demonstrator. We look forward to receiving more photographs from Mike of him out and about enjoying his new Zero on the road.

NEW GBS Workshop YouTube Channel & new products for the Zero's....

We have a main GBS YouTube channel which I am sure many of you have subscribed to and have watched our recent GBS Factory Tour video that we shared on there. We are now pleased to have a new dedicated YouTube Channel for the GBS Workshop, on here you will see a selection of videos sharing what the workshop team are up to, as well as videos of new product installations and upgrades on the Zero’s and other sports cars.

Including the below which we are pleased to have released and shared with you, these are just some of the new products that we have been busy developing for the Zero range and other sports cars.

Seat Belt Bolt Finishing Kit - These replace the standard hex head bolt which you have to cover up with a nut cover for the IVA Test. The new finishing kit uses a counter sunk 7/16 UNF bolt that has an aluminium cup with a radius that both comply’s with the IVA and also enhances the appearance of your car.
These are available in Black, Silver and Orange and now available online from Kit Spares.

Heated Seats - Heated Seat Elimiment optional extra now available on our GBS Seats. Visit our new GBS Workshop YouTube Channel to see a short video running through the installation, these new seats are now available and can be seen on our parts website Kit Spares.

GBS Zero registered and on the road in Norway....

It always nice to receive an email of photographs from customers. Earlier this week we received some photographs from GBS customer Peer Moberg from Norway, of his newly registered Zero in Norway. We are pleased to share with you the NEW GBS Zero complete component build package. This Ultimate Self Assembly package we have designed to be assembled and purchased in five different stages. This helps with planning, building and budgeting, or if you prefer it can be purchased as a whole package.
There are a range of optional extras and upgrades available along the way, so you will be building a truly individual sports car that is unique and bespoke to you.

GBS Zero looking good in USA & another on the way soon….

GBS customer Dan Kincade in the USA has his Zero on the road for a while now and has made some modifications and improvements to his Zero. We made him some custom 42mm tubes to give more performance for his new high spec Mazda engine, Dan will be taking it to the Dyno soon to see how it performs. Dan also purchased the new adjustable rear wishbones for the Mazda and has them all fitted and working now. Dan says  “Between the accelerator, rear arms and headers I feel that my car has been transformed to the next level. I look forward to continuing to up rate my Zero with more GBS / ATR components.”

We have another Zero that has recently been panelled that will soon be off to paint that is going to become one of our new Zero demonstrator cars in the USA. We are currently just deciding on the paint scheme for it, we will share more on that over the next few weeks with you.

We also have several Zero’s that have been with us for our IVA Service that we offer, and they are all now ready and waiting for the test dates to be confirmed. Nice Zero's currently being built & another arrived back from paint....

We are busy with several Zero factory build in progress…. We shared this newly painted green Zero with you last month and it’s progressing nicely the carpets are in, seats arrived and wheels are on, suspension fitted and the interior dash is now being fitted. It will soon be up and running and ready waiting to be presented to IVA, we will share more photographs once its on the floor and ready to go.

Another stunning Zero recently arrived back from our paint shop and we are pleased to share it with you all. This Zero has been painted in a stunning Audi R8 Orange, and will be powered by a 2L Zetec engine its now back in our workshop ready for the build to continue and to get it completed ready to present to IVA. There is a slight delay in IVA Tests due to the Coronavirus and we have had several tests that were booked cancelled that are now being rescheduled. Looking for a used Zero? Then we have some available that you might like...

Are you looking for a used Zero? Then we have this very nice spec Zero available... GBS Zero GT (2013)

We often get asked if there any used Zero’s available and we are pleased to share this very nice factory build one that is being sold on behalf of a GBS Customer. This Zero is a great example of a 2013 Factory build car, that has had one loving owner with full factory service history and has only covered 12,500 miles with full MOT, it has also had many factory modifications and upgrades to improve performance making it a very capable car.
The car is a GT chassis offering more room for the occupants with stainless steel panels our GT touring seats accompanied by TRS 4-point harness and seat runners on both sides. The car comes complete with full wet weather gear (door, roof, boot cover)

It is a 2L Zetec engine that produces 230bhp, the modified engine was built by renowned Ford engine builder Harvey Gibbs and was built from a brand new create engine. See below some photographs of this Zero.

Or if you are looking for a little bit of fun to use on the track then we have another Zero that you might be interested in. We are selling our Zero Race / Track Day demonstrator as we have a new one that is now in production. It is not road registered or IVA Tested, but could be made road legal with modifications and IVA, it’s a standard Race Chassis with fully welded intergrated Roll Cage powered by a  Ford 2L Zetec Engine 180 BHP.
