GBS Drive Out to Futura Sports Cars Open Day....

We had a fantastic day for our August GBS Drive Out, this time heading over to Futura Sports Cars for their Open Day. It was a brilliant opportunity to enjoy plenty of driving, great company, and to celebrate our new partnership with Futura Sports Cars as our Northern Dealer Specialist.

The day began with an early start from GBS, where a group of Zeros and other sports cars gathered before making the drive up to Yorkshire through some lovely roads. One of the highlights of the journey was seeing the convoy of cars driving right through the centre of York — a sight that certainly turned a few heads!

On arrival at Futura Sports Cars, it was fantastic to see their new setup, meet the team, and share in the excitement of their Open Day. Afterwards, we continued the day with lunch and drinks at the near by Aldwark Manor, where everyone could catch up and enjoy the sunshine before heading home their separate ways.

The weather was perfect throughout the day, and thankfully we managed to avoid the rain, making it an even more enjoyable drive. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us — it was a great turnout, and events like this wouldn’t be the same without you. We’ll be announcing details of the next GBS Drive Out very soon, and we hope to see you there for another fun day with the sports cars. More photographs and videos will can be seen on our social media later this week.

Fantastic time at the Silverstone Festival with the Zeros.....

We had a truly fantastic weekend at the Silverstone Festival – three days filled with exciting motorsport, incredible cars, uplifting live music, and all-round fun.

Our stand was busy from start to finish, with the GBS Zero attracting a lot of attention throughout the weekend. Visitors were able to get up close with a a striking factory built Zero Demonstrator, a customer’s beautifully finished Mazda Zero build and our ever-popular Half & Half Zero chassis, which proved to be a real hit once again. Many were pleasantly surprised at just how spacious our standard Zero really is once they tried it out for size!

The event also came with some big news. Last week it was announced that CarFest will be moving to Silverstone and will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2026. This means that the 2025 Festival was the last Silverstone Festival in its current format. While it truly marks the end of an era, we were delighted to be part of it — and we’re excited for the new event ahead and hope to be part of it.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand, asked questions, and shared in the passion for the Zero. We have lots more planned for the rest of the year. Next up is our GBS Drive Out, happening this Sunday 31st August — and there’s still time to register and join us! The next Cars & Coffee date will also be announced very soon!

Visit our event page to explore upcoming events, builds, and opportunities to experience the GBS Zero for yourself.

What a Fantastic Finale – GBS Friday Night at the Factory….
Wow – what a fantastic evening to round off our final GBS Friday Night at the Factory of the year last Friday (08/08/25)! We were thrilled to see such a brilliant turnout, with the car park overflowing with some truly stunning cars from our customers, friends, and fellow enthusiasts.

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the smell of freshly baked pizza filled the air thanks to the amazing team at Sherwood Fired Pizzas, who once again delivered mouth-watering wood-fired pizzas that were enjoyed by everyone. GBS - Track Day What a Fantastic (and Hot) Day at Blyton Park with the Zeros!....

Last Saturday (12th July) saw another brilliant day on track as we returned to Blyton Park for another GBS Track Day of the year. The sun was shining, the track was hot, and the Zeros were flying!

Our new Zero Race Car and Mazda-powered demonstrator spent the day doing what they were built for – delivering pure driving excitement lap after lap. It was great to be joined by a number of Zero owners and customers who also took to the track or enjoyed passenger laps with the GBS team. Whether in the driver’s seat or the passenger seat, there were smiles all round.

The Yokohama AO52 tyres once again delivered exceptional grip in the high temperatures, and we had no trouble lapping and gapping many of the other vehicles sharing the circuit. It really shows how capable the Zero is when properly set up and driven to its potential.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along – whether on track, spectating, or just stopping by to chat. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

We’re already exploring options to squeeze in a few more GBS Track Days later in the year, so stay tuned to our Events Page and social channels for updates.

If you're looking for a car that offers unbeatable performance on both road and track, the GBS Zero could be the perfect choice for you. Click here to explore more about the Zero, or contact us to discuss the self-build or factory-built options.

Behind the scenes.... Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers – Aston University Students Visit GBS

Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome a group of engineering students from Aston University to the GBS factory for a full behind-the-scenes tour. The students, who are currently undertaking a GBS Zero self-build project of their own, had the opportunity to explore the complete production process — from design and engineering through to fabrication, assembly, and testing.

As part of their visit, the group saw first hand how the GBS Zero is designed and manufactured in-house, including our ATR components such as suspension, throttle bodies and more. It was a great chance for the students to gain practical insight into automotive engineering and manufacturing, while asking questions and learning from our experienced team.

We're always proud to support educational institutions and student-led projects, and the Zero self-build kit provides an ideal platform for applying real-world engineering skills. Whether it's mechanical, electrical, fabrication or systems engineering, the GBS Zero is a rewarding and exciting challenge that delivers hands-on learning in a truly unique way.

We’re passionate about encouraging the next generation of engineers and are always open to working with schools, colleges, and universities. If you're an educator or part of a student group and would like to discuss an educational build opportunity, a collaboration, or arrange a factory tour — we’d love to hear from you.

Contact us today to explore how we can support your educational or engineering initiative. Explore our website to learn more about the Zero and our range of kits that we offer.

Welcoming our GBS Zero owner & family from California, USA to GBS.....

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming GBS Zero owner Aaron and his family to the GBS factory, visiting us all the way from sunny California, USA. It was fantastic to meet them in person after many years /months of working together remotely. During their visit, they toured the GBS factory, met the full team behind the build of their Zero, and enjoyed a test drive in our latest GBS demonstrator.

Aaron’s high-spec Zero is now very near completion and will soon be ready to begin its journey on the roads of the USA. Some of you may have already seen Aaron’s Zero on our stand last year when Richard, Matt and Paul were at the Miata Reunion at Sonoma Raceway in California — it certainly gathered a lot of attention and excitement.

We’re proud that the GBS Zero is now enjoyed by enthusiasts across the globe, including a growing number of passionate customers in the United States. To support this, we have a dedicated GBS USA representative who is on hand to assist with enquiries, provide local knowledge, and help guide you through the self-build or turnkey process. Whether you're in California, New York, Texas, or anywhere in between, we can help make your Zero dream a reality.

If you're based in the USA and are interested in the GBS Zero, whether it's our Mazda-based kit, a custom configuration, or a factory-built option, then get in touch. We’d be happy to connect you with our USA representative or arrange a video call with our team here at the factory to explore the options we offer.

We look forward to seeing Aaron’s Zero on the road soon and welcoming more customers from the USA in the future to GBS.

Busy weekend at the Malvern Kit Car Show..... Thank You for Joining Us!

At the weekend (31st May & 1st June), we had a fantastic time exhibiting at the National Kit Car Show held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern. We’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who visited our stand — it was great to catch up with existing GBS Zero owners and meet so many new faces interested in joining the Zero community.

Inside the main hall, we proudly showcased our brand-new 2.5L Ford Duratec-powered Zero, which drew a lot of attention. Making its debut at the show was our innovative half-and-half Zero chassis — a unique display model allowing visitors to compare the standard and GT (Grand Tourer) body options side-by-side and find the perfect fit. It was a real highlight for many visitors!

Also on display was a selection of our precision-engineered ATR Products, all proudly designed and manufactured in-house. These components — along with many others — are available online at Kit Spares, our dedicated parts store.

Customers Enjoying Their Zeros on Track at Bedford Autodrome & Snetterton.....

It’s always fantastic to see our customers out on track enjoying their GBS Zeros as they were built to be driven — with passion, precision, and plenty of smiles! Recently, two of our customers took their Duratec-powered Zeros to the Bedford Autodrome and Snetterton Circuit, where they each enjoyed a brilliant day of fast driving on the track.

The feedback from both track sessions has been extremely positive. The Zeros performed exceptionally well throughout the day, delivering both the speed and control that makes them such a joy to drive on the circuit. From fast straights to technical corners, the balance and responsiveness of the chassis really come into their own — exactly what we designed the Zero for.

Whether it’s a fully built turn-key Zero, a custom kit, or a self-build project, our cars are engineered to offer a thrilling experience both on the road and on the track. Their lightweight construction, race-bred suspension, and strong yet flexible drivetrain options make the Zero the perfect dual-purpose sports car.

We’re currently planning our next GBS Track Day, and we’ll be sharing details very soon. These events are a fantastic opportunity for owners to enjoy their cars in a safe and exciting environment, meet fellow enthusiasts, and get support from the GBS team and enjoy passenger laps in our Zero race car with the team.

If you’re interested in joining us for the next event — or have any questions about preparing your Zero for track use — feel free to get in touch. We love seeing the Zeros being used to their full potential, and we’re always here to help you get the most from your build. Stay tuned for more updates and track day announcements!

Try our Standard and GT Zero Chassis before you buy....

Ever wondered about the difference between our Standard and GT Zero chassis? The answer is 80mm, and now you’ll be able to experience the difference first-hand!
We’re pleased to introduce our new half-and-half Zero chassis—perfect for trying both sizes during your visit to GBS or at the events we attend.

Each chassis option is designed to suit different driver preferences and needs, offering the perfect balance between comfort and performance. The Standard chassis offers a compact, agile feel, while the GT chassis provides extra space and comfort without compromising performance.

To help you decide which is right for you, we’re excited to introduce our half-and-half Zero chassis. This innovative display will allow you to experience both sizes side-by-side, giving you a unique opportunity to “try before you buy.”
The difference of 80mm does not sound a lot but it does make a big different and now you’ll be able to sit in and compare the feel of each chassis, ensuring your Zero chassis is right for to you.

We invite you to visit GBS to see the half-and-half chassis in person and try it out. The Perfect Home for a Zero Build.....

We always love seeing what our customers are up to with their Zeros and getting a glimpse into the garages and workshops where these incredible cars come to life. Recently, we received some fantastic images from a customer who has created a brand-new home for their Zero—transforming a shipping container into the perfect home for their Zero!

The transformation is truly impressive. The container has been carefully modified, with windows and doors installed to allow for natural light and ventilation. The inside has been fully spray-painted by hand with this fantastic scenery incorporating the GBS Logo, creating a clean and functional space that looks amazing. It's the perfect example of how you don’t need a huge workshop to build and enjoy a Zero!

The Zero is an ideal build for a small garage or compact workspace, and to make things even easier, we offer a GBS Build Trolley, which allows the chassis to be easily moved around as you progress with your build. Whether you have a full workshop or a compact space, building a Zero is an achievable and rewarding project.

Thinking about starting your own Zero build? Contact us today to discuss the options available and how we can help you get started!

A Great Start to the 2025 GBS Track Day Season at Blyton Park!

A Great Start to the 2025 GBS Track Day Season!
On Saturday (22nd March) we had a fun-filled day at the track to kick off our first GBS Track Day of the year at Blyton Park with Javelin Track Days! It’s always incredible to see the Zeros out on track together, pushing their limits and delivering an exhilarating driving experience.

Our Zero Mazda demonstrator and Ford Zero Race Car were flat-out all day, completing non-stop laps, even in the rain! The GBS team took turns behind the wheel, making the most of the track time and enjoying every lap. Both cars had queues of eager passengers, keen to experience the thrill of the Zero from the passenger seat.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—we hope you had as much fun as we did! The little bit of rain didn’t stop the action, and it was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic drivers and spectators enjoying the day.
Stay tuned—the next track day date will be announced very soon, and we hope you can all join us again for more fun on the track!
