Awesome Test Day at Donington Park with the Zeros - CSCC Magnificent Sevens Test Day....

We had an awesome day at Donington Park last week as our GBS Zero Race Car took to the track for the CSCC Magnificent Sevens Series official test day.

Behind the wheel was Will Orton, who put the car through its paces in what proved to be a hugely productive and successful outing. The conditions were kind to us, with dry weather throughout the day making it ideal for consistent running and focused testing.

The Zero performed exceptionally well, achieving some very competitive lap times and showing strong pace straight out of the box. The day wasn’t just about speed, though — it was an important opportunity to gather data and continue developing the car ahead of the season opener next month.

We worked through a detailed testing programme, including Damper adjustments and suspension setup refinement, Engine calibration tweaks and general setup changes to improve balance and drivability.

Our Zero race car is powered by a standard-spec Ford 2.5 Duratec engine fitted with ATR throttle bodies, delivering strong, reliable performance — perfect for competitive club racing.

The car is now back in the workshop for further refinements and final preparation ahead of the first race of the season. We’re excited to confirm that we’re expecting four or five more Zeros to be joining us on the grid later this month — it’s shaping up to be a fantastic start to the year.

On the test day we were also joined by another Zero owner, who will also be racing in the series. It’s great to see more Zero drivers stepping into competitive racing and building a strong presence within the Magnificent Sevens paddock.

It was also fantastic to welcome customers who came along to support us and see the Zeros in action on track. Events like these are a brilliant way to experience the cars doing what they’re built for — lightweight, responsive, and seriously capable on circuit.

If you’re interested in going racing, there’s still time to enter the CSCC Magnificent Sevens Series this season. It’s a competitive yet friendly championship and a perfect platform for Zero owners looking to take the next step into motorsport.

Alternatively, why not join us at our upcoming GBS Track Day at Blyton Park in April? It’s a great opportunity to get your Zero out on track, develop your driving skills, and enjoy the car in a safe, supportive environment. There are still places available!

We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with Will as we push to get the very best out of our Zero Race Car this season — Exciting times ahead!

Exciting and busy weekend at this years Race Retro Show....

This past weekend (20th-22nd February) some of the GBS Team headed to Stoneleigh Park for the Race Retro Show, one of our favourite events of the year! It was a fantastic show, and we pulled a brand-new Zero race build straight out of production to put on display, one that we have done several videos on during its build.
The Duratec-powered GBS Zero race car, attracted a lot of attention over the three days, alongside the Zero race car, we also displayed some of our most popular ATR Products, including the ATR Sump, ATR Shock Absorber, ATR Throttle Bodies and the Ford 2.5 Duratec Engine set up which are all available from our parts shop Kit Spares.
A special highlight for us from the event was welcoming the owner of this stunning Zero race build, who got to see his car on its wheels and in the spotlight for the very first time. A proud moment and great to share.
The car is now back in the build bay as we complete the final stages, ready to be enjoyed on both road and track later this year.

For those who couldn’t make it to the show, you can explore our full range of parts and spares online at: www.kitspares.co.uk and www.atrproducts.co.uk
We’ve recently added lots of new products to the Kit Spares website, so be sure to check them out! And don’t forget, our Kit Spares shop and showroom are open Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday openings depending on events (please contact us in advance for Saturday availability).

GBS Zero returns to the CSCC Magnificent Seven Championship with racing driver Will Orton....

We’re excited to announce that we’ve entered our GBS Zero race car into this year’s CSCC Magnificent Seven Championship once again, joined by several other GBS Zero owners who will also be competing throughout the season.

We’re delighted to confirm that racing driver Will Orton will be driving for us in the opening round at Donington Park in March. Last year Will competed in the GT4 European Series with Aston Martin, driving the new Vantage GT4, and is also a ARDS-A Instructor and Driver Coach.

Will is no stranger to GBS. Several years ago, he joined us at one of our GBS Track Days, where he spent time on track giving passenger laps in our Zero demonstrator. His driving skill and smooth, confidence-inspiring style left a lasting impression — so much so that customers still talk about their passenger rides with Will to this day.

While Will has driven our road Zero, this will be his first time behind the wheel of our Zero race car. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be busy preparing the car and working closely with Will to achieve the best possible setup ahead of our upcoming test day, also at Donington Park later this month.

We can’t wait to see Will out on track in our GBS Zero race car alongside the other Zeros on the grid. Be sure to follow us across our social media channels for updates, videos, and behind-the-scenes content as we get race-ready.

A few words from Will- “I’m really looking forward to taking part in the first round of the CSCC Magnificent Seven Championship in collaboration with Great British Sports Cars. They’re a local business and one I’ve had a great relationship with over the years, so to finally represent them in this race at Donington Park is something I’m really excited about. I’d also love to welcome any owners of GBS sports cars to head down to Donington on the 29th of March to show their support.” Will Orton.

The Zero is perfectly suited to both road and track use, with a range of options available to meet your individual requirements. Whether you’re looking for a versatile performance road car or exploring competitive motorsport with our Zero race car, we have solutions to match your goals.

If you’re interested in racing or would like to learn more about our Zero race car packages, get in touch with the team to discuss your options. And don’t forget — our GBS Track Day at Blyton Park takes place on 25th April. If Will isn’t racing or instructing, there’s a good chance he may be joining us there as well. Click here for more details about the CSCC Magnificent Seven Championship.

GBS Factory Tour kicks off the first event of the Year....

On Saturday (31st January) was our first event of the year, we were delighted to welcome guests to our first GBS full factory tour of the year. These days are always a highlight for us, as they give us the chance to share what we do, how we do it, and—most importantly—why we love it.

The tour offers visitors a behind-the-scenes insight into life at GBS, from the early design stages through to the manufacture of the GBS Zero and our full range of products. Guests were able to see first-hand how our vehicles are engineered, assembled, and developed, as well as meet some of the team responsible for bringing each project to life.

We’re always proud to open our doors and talk through the processes, challenges, and passion that go into everything we build, and it was great to meet so many enthusiastic visitors who share our love of performance and engineering.

If you missed out this time, don’t worry — the next factory tour date will be announced soon, and we’d love to welcome you along. The next date will be announced on our event page very soon.

We’ve had a fantastic year seeing the Zeros out on track....

We’ve had a fantastic year seeing the Zeros out on track, and there’s nothing we enjoy more than watching customers get the most out of their cars in a true motorsport environment. From first shakedown laps to full race weekends, it’s always rewarding to see Zeros being driven as they were intended for both the road and track.

Recently, this stunning Zero Race Car enjoyed its very first outing on track at Blyton Park, taking part in a Javelin Track days event. It was the perfect opportunity for the owners to test the setup, and build confidence ahead of what promises to be an exciting racing season next year. First track days are always special and exciting.

We love following our customers’ journeys, from the initial build stage right through to track and road use. Seeing that progression—from garage to grid—is what makes projects like these so rewarding for everyone involved.

If you’re thinking about taking your Zero on track for the first time, or even planning to compete next season, we are here to help. From preparation and setup to safety checks and race-ready advice, we can support you every step of the way to ensure your car is ready to perform.

We’re also looking forward to getting back on track ourselves next year with the Zeros on track days and events. Details of our first track day of 2026 will be announced in early January, so keep an eye out—we can’t wait to be back out on track!

GBS Halloween Pumpkin Drive Out – What a Fantastic Day!

What a fantastic day we had for our GBS Halloween Pumpkin Drive Out on Saturday (25/10/25) and a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a great event.

It was an early start at the GBS factory, where everyone gathered before heading out together on a scenic drive through some of Nottinghamshire’s finest roads. The route covered around 60–70 miles of stunning countryside, and it was brilliant to see such a variety of cars and even motorbikes joining in the fun.

We stopped for a well-earned pub lunch, enjoying great food, company, and conversation before heading back. It was a fun day — with plenty of smiles, laughs, and of course a few Halloween touches along the way! We’ve captured plenty of great photos and video moments, which we’ll be sharing soon — keep an eye on our social media and YouTube channel.

GBS Zeros out on Track Racing at Oulton Park.....

At the weekend, the GBS team headed to Oulton Park to support driver Abi Whitt, who was racing our GBS Zero race car in the CSCC Magnificent Sevens Series again. It was a fantastic day of close racing and great atmosphere, with the Zero once again performing exceptionally well — showing off its impressive speed, agility, and reliability on track.

It was brilliant to see not just our own Zero race car in action, but also another GBS Zero competing in the same race! The paddock was busy with plenty of interest from spectators and customers, several of whom joined us on the day to see the cars in action. Many are now hoping to be on the grid themselves next year in their own GBS Zeros — which is exactly what we love to see!

We’re already looking ahead to 2026, with exciting plans to get back out on track with the Zeros as much as we can.
