Work Experience at GBS..... We welcome Students when we can.

We get a lot of requests for Work Experience here at GBS throughout the year, we do our best to offer work experience opportunities when possible weather it be for a week or just a day. As we manufacture and design a lot of components in house, students are able to see and gain full experience of how the Zero and components are designed and manufactured from start to finish and get to see what’s involved to produce a sports car.

Last week we welcomed 18 year old Reece to GBS for two days work experience, Reece is studying Level 3 engineering and A’ Levels in Maths and Physics at Doncaster UTC - (University Technical College) in Doncaster. Reece has a strong passion for cars and motorsport and enjoyed his time with us last week and will possibly being coming back to join us very soon.

We are a very popular choice with Schools and Colleges throughout the country for work experience placements and student placements. Places are limited and are allocated on first come, first served basis, to apply and for all enquires please visit our career page.

Students Zero Race Self Build Kit is progressing well....

Just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays we welcomed a group of year 2 motorsport students from Stafford & Newcastle College (NSCG College) to GBS for a full factory tour. The College now have their Ultimate Zero (Race Chassis) self build kit and the students are now well underway with their build and we have already received a lot of photos from them. The new Zero build guide that we have has been a great help to them and we look forward to following their build, and them joining us at our future events with their very own Zero. We also look forward to welcoming them back to GBS again later this year for another student factory tour.

The Zero build is an ideal education tool in engineering and technical programs. Students gain practical experience developing their knowledge and understanding of engineering in a practical application. As well as being an exciting and captivating project for students a GBS Zero build maintains interest and enthusiasm with a real sense of achievement as each stage is completed. Race Retro Plan B – Open House at GBS this Saturday 24th February 10am – 4pm.

We were saddened to hear that this years Race Retro Show has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. We understand their decision and that the safety and well-being of attendees, participants, staff and local residents remain their top priority.

Due to cancellation of the Race Retro Show we have decided to have an open house at GBS this Saturday (24th February) from 10am to 4pm. We are delighted that we will also be supported by a few other exhibitors and clubs that were going to be at the show that we will share more about later in the week on our social media channels.
If you were planning on visiting our stand at the Race Retro this weekend we hope you will come and join us on Saturday at GBS instead, below are some more details about what we are planning -

-Meet the GBS Team and see the GBS Zeros that we will have on display - Chance to see a range of Zeros including our new Zero Race Car, Zero chassis and more.

See us at the Race Retro show next month with the Zero. After a break of several years of not exhibiting at the Race Retro we are pleased to be back there next month (23rd-25th February) with the Zeros.
Experience the exhilaration of retro motorsport as they bring together legendary figures, iconic cars, and heart-pounding live rally action! The event showcases specialist exhibitors offering a unique selection of products and a plethora of inspiring automotive displays.

Tri Tech will be with us on our stand at the Autosport Show......

We are very much looking forward to being at this year’s Autosport’s Show happening next week. With our ongoing partnership we are delighted that Tri-Tech 3D will be joining us on our stand again this year.
On display, along with the Zeros including our new Zero Race car that is now ready for the track will be one of the latest UltiMaker 3D printers. An affordable starting point for anyone looking to get into 3D printing, the UltiMaker S7 is built for a wide variety of applications (including End use parts, Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures) many of which are ideal for the Automotive industry.
Not only will you will be able to see this 3D Printer on our stand, there will also be a selection of 3D printed models from market leaders Stratasys. Boasting five different 3D print technologies and an even wider gamut of materials, we have sample parts from previous use case projects that are sure to make you stop and look, and some that can be seen on our Zero Race Car.

Now available is a GBS Zero Printable Colouring Book that we have created of the Zeros.
This is free and can be downloaded and printed from our Kit Spares website. It has 5 Zero images to colour and is ideal for Children. Many were handed out at the Classic Motor Show and it was very popular and we have seen some great creations already.

A BUSY START TO 2024….

The very first event on the GBS Calendar for 2024 is confirmed, we are excited to be exhibiting at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham in January where the GBS team will be with the Zeros.

The new Zero Build Guide that we released last month has proven very popular and we have had some very positive feedback about it and are continuing to work behind the scenes to develop and add to it.
We also find that videos are a useful way and often easier way to give advise and guide you through certain areas of the Zero build, as we can go into more detail. So we are now working to produce and release regular videos on certain areas of the build via our workshop YouTube Channel.
We still have a our main GBS YouTube Channel that will still be updated with other videos that are not as technical, more about the cars, events, behind the scenes and other exciting projects we are doing. NEW Product - Zero Roof Cover is now available.....

We are pleased to share with you all that there is now a roof cover available for the Zero, currently just the standard Gen 2 Zero, the GT Zero Gen 2 and Zero Gen 1 Roof’s will be available soon.

The Zero Gen 2 Roof Cover comes complete with fixings. It is suitable for use with our side doors and windscreen allowing you to use the car in all weather. It can be easily stored away when not in use behind the seat or in the boot in its GBS storage bag which is provided.

The next GBS Cars & Coffee event will be our Christmas Cars & Coffee event which is now confirmed and the GBS Team would like to invite you all to the GBS Factory on Saturday 2nd December for Tea/Coffee and Mince Pies & Biscuits to say Happy Christmas and Thank You for all your support this year.

The GBS showroom will be open on the day as well as the Kit Spares Shop, we hope you can come and join us!  Everyone is welcome, why not wrap up warm and come in your Zero and other sports cars and help us raise more money for two great charities…. We will be collecting for the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance & Cancer Research.

Newly registered Zero being enjoyed at the Nürburgring....

We love receiving photos from you all enjoying your Zeros whether it be on the road or track….. You may have already seen one of these photos that we shared on our social media channels last week of a customer who has only had his Zero for a few months that recently enjoyed a very long road trip and then enjoyed several laps around the Nürburgring and what a great experience he had. The car behaved perfectly, not just on the ring but on the journey overall, we look forward to receiving more photos of its next adventure.

Evening Factory Tour - Behind the scenes at GBS...

Earlier this week on Wednesday evening we hosted a full factory tour at GBS for a small group. The tour was led by Richard and covered a full behind scenes tour of our GBS facility including the new fabrication department. The tour started in the showroom where light refreshments were served then moving onto the parts and spares store, design room, clean assembly room, engineering machine shop, fabrication, composite department, workshop then back to the showroom where we finished.

EXCITING NEWS.... The GBS Zero Build Guide is released......

We are very excited & pleased to share with you the new Zero Build Guide….

This build guide for the GBS Zero guides you through the build process and answers many of the questions we get asked, hopefully making your Zero build as smooth as possible. Dependant on your level of experience, it normally takes around 120 hours to complete the Zero Build. The contents (185 pages) of the guide covers a range of areas of the build from tools & equipment, panelling, assembly of certain aspects of the car to the set up of the car. The new build guide will be issued with all Zero kits that are ordered and those of you that are already in the build status please get in touch (request button below) and we will send you a copy. You can also see more Technical downloads here on our website that might be of interest to you. You can also view a sample of the New Build Guide below so you know what to expect.
This is an ongoing guide that all the team have been involved with and any feed back, comments good or bad will be welcome so we can continue to improve and expand on this guide. Please be aware once you have requested a copy of the build guide please allow up to 24hrs (Monday - Friday) for it to be sent you via email.

GBS Zero Race Car seen at Silverstone Festival with Yokohama....

Last weekend (25th - 27th August) we were at the Silverstone Festival with Yokohama Tyres. Our Zero race car was seen over the three days on the Yokohama Stand which was located in the paddock area of the event. The Silverstone Festival is one of our favourite events of the year with so much to do for the whole family, with plenty of track action and entertainment for all ages with Racing, Live Music, Car Clubs, Super Cars, Auctions, Shopping Village, Fun Fair and much more. It was a great weekend for us and would like to thank Silverstone Festival for a great event and a big thank you to all the Yokohama team for their hospitality and for having our Zero race car on display on their stand. Last Friday (25th September) was a our final Friday Night at the Factory.... Until next year.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday and at all the other Friday Night at the factory events this year. It’s always great to have the GBS car park full of sports cars, Tractors and motor bikes. We now look forward to hosting more Friday Night at the Factory events next year. We have lots of exciting plans for next years GBS events and we look forward to sharing details with you all later in the year.
