Another fantastic GBS Friday Night at the Factory event.....

On Friday 19th June, we started the weekend in style with our second GBS Friday Night at the Factory event of the year — and what a fantastic evening it was.

With the gates opening at 5pm, it didn't take long for the car park to fill with an impressive variety of vehicles. One of the highlights of the evening was the arrival of the Bond Bug Club, who joined us for part of the evening and created a fantastic display in one corner of the car park. Their colourful and unique cars attracted plenty of attention and made a great addition to the event.

It was also fantastic to see so many GBS Zeros together, alongside a wide variety of other sports cars, classics, performance cars. One of the things we enjoy most about Friday Night at the Factory is seeing such a diverse range of vehicles and enthusiasts come together. Whether you own a Zero, a classic car, a supercar, a motorcycle, or simply enjoy being around great vehicles, everyone is welcome.

Throughout the evening, visitors enjoyed freshly baked pizzas from Sherwood Fired Pizza, along with drinks, cakes, and refreshments served by the GBS team. The warm weather, great company, and relaxed atmosphere made for a perfect summer evening.

These events are all about bringing together the wider automotive community, giving people the opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts, catch up with friends, see some fantastic vehicles, and enjoy an evening surrounded by people who share the same passion for cars and motorsport.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. The support for these events continues to grow each year, and it is fantastic to see so many familiar faces alongside plenty of new visitors.

Next GBS Friday Night at the Factory - We are pleased to announce that the next GBS Friday Night at the Factory event will take place on Friday 21st August 2026 at Great British Sports Cars. All cars are welcome, and everyone is invited to join us for another great evening of cars, food, and conversation. Food and drinks will be available on the night. Drinks and cakes are free of charge; we simply ask for a donation towards our chosen charities.

We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back and hopefully seeing an even bigger turnout.

Before then – Join Us for Cars & Coffee - Before our next Friday Night at the Factory event, don't forget that our next GBS Cars & Coffee, proudly sponsored by Yokohama Tyres, is taking place on Saturday 18th July at GBS. This popular event continues to attract a fantastic variety of vehicles and enthusiasts, making it another date not to be missed.

Thank you once again to everyone who joined us on Friday evening, and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

The next GBS Factory Tour date announced... Book you place now.

Following the success of our sold-out Factory Tour event earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that a new date has now been confirmed for 2026.

Back in January, we welcomed visitors from across the country to GBS for a unique behind-the-scenes look at what we do. The event proved extremely popular, with all places selling out and attendees enjoying an exclusive insight into the design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly processes behind the GBS Zero and our growing range of products.

We are now pleased to offer this opportunity once again, with the next GBS Factory Tour taking place on Saturday 22nd August 2026.

Whether you're considering purchasing a GBS Zero, already own one, are involved in motorsport, or simply have a passion for engineering and manufacturing, this event provides a fascinating look at British engineering in action.

The tour will be led by GBS Director Richard and members of the GBS team, giving visitors the opportunity to hear first-hand how the business started, how it has evolved over the years, and what goes into creating every GBS Zero.

During the tour, visitors will enjoy access to a wide range of areas throughout the business, including:

  • GBS Workshop

  • Parts Department

  • Engineering Department

  • ATR Assembly Area

  • Fabrication Department

  • Composite Manufacturing

  • Vehicle Build Areas

  • Product Development Projects

  • And much more

One of the unique aspects of the tour is the opportunity to see how around 80% of the Zero is designed and manufactured in-house. From chassis fabrication and component manufacturing through to assembly and final preparation, visitors gain a genuine understanding of what makes the GBS Zero so unique.

To ensure everyone enjoys a personal and interactive experience, numbers on each tour are limited. This allows plenty of opportunity to ask questions, speak directly with the team, and gain a deeper understanding of both the cars and the business.

If you'd like to see what previous visitors thought of the experience, head over to the GBS YouTube channel where you can watch a short video from one of our earlier Factory Tours.

What Visitors Have Said

Following one of our previous tours, Mr & Mrs Hartley shared the following review:

"We were one of the very first to go on the tour and what a treat it was. This is a bit different to the normal corporate factory tours we've done before. It felt much more authentic and honest. We were taken around by Richard, the director, so we got to hear first-hand how the business started and how it has grown.

The tour itself was fascinating as you moved around the premises from room to room. GBS is a really small team, but that's what makes the whole business so unique and incredibly special. When you see the finished cars created here, you will be yearning to buy one. The tour brings the whole production process to life and Richard's passion for what him and his team create is clear to see. Highly recommend this tour for its individuality and Britishness."

Group and Bespoke Bookings

In addition to our scheduled Factory Tours, we are also able to arrange visits for larger groups, car clubs, educational, students, corporate events, and private bookings. If you would like to discuss a bespoke visit, please contact the GBS team with your requirements and we will be happy to explore the options available.

Places for the August Factory Tour are expected to fill quickly, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. For full details and to reserve your place, please visit our Events page.

Zero Mazda Build Passes IVA and now ready to be enjoyed on the road....

This stunning Zero Mazda build has now successfully passed its IVA test and is just one step away from being registered and enjoyed on both the road and track later this year.

This build is a fantastic example of what can be achieved using our popular Zero Mazda Module Kit combined with a Mazda MX-5 donor vehicle. The Mazda-based build route continues to be one of the most popular options for customers looking to create a lightweight, high-performance sports car for road and track while making use of the excellent components from the MX-5.

Starting with a Mazda donor car and our Zero Mazda Module Kit, builders can create a truly bespoke sports car tailored to their own requirements. The modular build process allows customers to spread the cost of the project while enjoying the satisfaction of building their own car.

One of the great advantages of the Zero is the vast range of options and upgrades available throughout the build. This particular car features several impressive upgrades, including factory-fitted aluminium panel work, a custom paint finish, throttle bodies, and a rear diffuser, all of which help create a unique and striking finished vehicle.

We look forward to seeing the car registered and out enjoying the roads very soon and also joining us at our GBS events this the year.

If you're interested in building your own Zero, whether using a Mazda MX-5 donor or one of our other build options, get in touch with the GBS team or arrange a factory visit. We'd be delighted to show you around and help you start planning your dream build.

GBS to Exhibit at PistonHeads Annual Service 2026....

We’re excited to announce that GBS has been invited to exhibit for the first time at this year’s PistonHeads Annual Service, taking place on Saturday 8th August at Bicester Motion.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the GBS Zero to a wider audience, and we’re looking forward to being part of what has quickly become one of the UK’s must-attend automotive events. The GBS team will be on hand throughout the day with a selection of Zeros and our product range, so whether you’re an existing owner, a future builder, or simply a car enthusiast, we’d love you to come and see us.

Launched as part of PistonHeads’ 25th anniversary celebrations, the Annual Service has rapidly grown into a flagship event. The inaugural show welcomed over 5,000 enthusiasts, and by 2025 it had expanded into a complete sell-out with a record 7,000 attendees — highlighting just how popular and well-regarded it has become.

For one day only, the entire Bicester Motion site is transformed into a vibrant automotive showcase — a privilege reserved for only a select number of events. The live stage sits at the heart of the day, hosting exclusive interviews, podcast recordings, and award ceremonies, while across the venue visitors can explore an incredible mix of display cars, themed areas, manufacturers, specialists, and car clubs.

We’re proud to be part of this exciting event for the first time and can’t wait to meet fellow enthusiasts, share our passion for the Zero, and connect with the wider automotive community.

Be sure to keep an eye on our events page for more details — and make sure to come and say hello if you’re attending!

On Friday 1st May, we kicked off the bank holiday weekend in style with our first GBS Friday Night at the Factory event of the year — and what a fantastic evening it was.

With the gates opening at 5pm, it didn’t take long for the car park to fill up. It was great to see so many Zeros together, alongside a wide variety of other sports cars, all coming together to enjoy a relaxed summer evening with fellow enthusiasts.

First GBS Track Day of 2026 — What a Day!

What a fantastic way to kick off our first GBS track day of 2026! At Blyton Park (one of our favourite tracks) with Javelin Trackdays, the day delivered everything you could want from a track event — sunshine, speed, great company, and plenty of action out on circuit.

Its always great to see so many Zeros together in one place, all being driven as they were designed to be — out on track. From seasoned drivers to those experiencing their first time behind the wheel, the atmosphere throughout the day was friendly, supportive, and full of enthusiasm.

Our Zero demonstrator cars were kept busy from start to finish, giving passenger laps and showcasing exactly what the Zero is capable of. It’s always a highlight to see the reactions from those stepping out of the car — a real reminder of just how exciting these cars are to drive, especially on the track!

As with any proper track day, there were a few moments of drama along the way, including the odd spin and even some trackside repairs. But that’s all part of the experience, and it was great to see everyone pitching in, helping each other, and getting cars back out on track as quickly as possible.

Events like this are what the GBS community is all about — bringing people together to enjoy their cars, share knowledge, and have a great time in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day such a success. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We’d also like to thank the team at Javelin Trackdays for helping to deliver a great event. We’ll be announcing our next track event soon — so keep an eye out, and we hope to see even more of you on track next time!

Head to our GBS events page to see more events we have planned, including our first GBS Friday Night at the Factory event happening this Friday (1st May) at GBS - Gate open at 5pm and all cars are welcome to join us!

Take a look inside the GBS workshop at two stunning Zero builds....

It’s been a busy and productive few weeks in the GBS workshop, and as always, we’ve had an interesting mix of cars passing through — not just Zeros. It’s always a pleasure to see a variety of Zero builds coming together, each one unique in its own way.

Recently, we’ve welcomed two particularly impressive examples into the workshop for our IVA preparation service, both currently being carefully prepared ahead of their tests.

The first is a stunning Ultimate Zero kit build, powered by the ever-popular Ford Duratec 2.3 engine — a fantastic choice for those looking for strong performance and a proven setup. Alongside it, we have a Mazda Module Zero build, based on the Mazda MX-5 donor platform. This build showcases the versatility of the Zero concept, offering a more accessible route into ownership while still delivering an engaging driving experience.

These two cars are great examples of how different running gear and build approaches can produce equally impressive results. Every Zero that comes through our workshop is bespoke and individual, reflecting the vision and preferences of its owner — something we’re always proud to support.

We’re looking forward to seeing both of these builds successfully pass their IVA tests, get registered, and most importantly, be enjoyed out on the road and track.

If you’re thinking about building your own sports car, our team is here to help. Whether you’re just starting out or already partway through a build, we can offer advice, guidance, and support every step of the way.

Alternatively, why not come and see us in person? Join us on Friday 1st May at GBS for our Friday Night at the Factory event from 5pm. There’s always a great turnout of Zeros on display — the perfect opportunity to get inspired and chat with the team. We look forward to seeing you there!

New GBS Clothing Range Just Got Bigger.....

We’re excited to announce that our GBS clothing range has just expanded with the addition of a brand-new hoodie and T-shirt design, featuring the iconic Zero silhouette on the front.

Available in a wide choice of colours and sizes, these new additions sit alongside our existing range and are available to purchase online via our Kit Spares parts shop, as well as in-store at the GBS / Kit Spares shop.

We currently have a large amount of stock available; however, if your preferred colour and size combination isn’t in stock, please allow up to 7 days from the order date for delivery. We’re also pleased to offer these in children’s sizes (made to order), and they’ve already proven incredibly popular since launch — it’s fantastic to see so many families getting involved and wearing GBS together.

The team are big fans too and have all been wearing the new range — you may have even spotted them at our recent Cars & Coffee event!
You can order yours online today, or why not collect in person at our first GBS Friday Night at the Factory event, taking place at GBS on Friday 1st May? It’s the perfect way to kick off the bank holiday weekend. We look forward to seeing you there, all cars are welcome!

Educational Zero Builds.....Inspiring the Next Generation of Car Builders

Yesterday we delivered a GBS Zero kit to North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. Where students will soon begin their very own Zero build journey. For many of them, this will be the first time working hands-on with a sports car project of this scale, and we look forward to following their progress.

We’re passionate about supporting education and giving students the opportunity to experience engineering in a real, practical way. Our educational kit builds are designed to inspire, teach valuable skills, and provide insight into the world of automotive design and manufacturing.

We’re proud to work closely with schools, colleges, and universities across the UK and beyond, offering not only our Zero kit builds but also dedicated student factory tours where groups can explore our workshop, see our production in action, and learn more about the British sports car industry.

The future of the automotive world lies in the hands of the next generation, and we’re delighted to play our part in helping shape it. Find out more about our educational builds and student tours here or contact us now to discuss more.

GBS Zero Race Car – Donington Park Test & Brands Hatch Race Weekend….

A few weeks ago, we spent a fantastic evening at Donington Park with driver Abi Whitt, as she put our GBS Zero race car through its paces in preparation for the Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens at Brands Hatch where she will be driving our Zero race car.

The Donington test session was invaluable — allowing Abi to fine-tune the setup, test performance, and build confidence ahead of race day. Abi showed impressive pace and handled the Zero brilliantly, giving us every reason to be excited for the weekend at Brands Hatch.

Unfortunately, the GBS team couldn’t be at the track to support Abi in person, as the event clashed with our own GBS Drive Out. However, we were delighted to follow her progress closely and celebrate her results afterwards.

The Weekend Recap:

  • Day 1 – Qualifying: On Saturday evening at 5pm, Abi qualified 8th out of 20 cars. The GBS Zero was the only Zero on the grid, racing alongside a strong field of Caterhams.

  • Day 2 – Race 1 (12:25): In tricky conditions, the treaded tyre runners had the advantage at the start. Abi seized her chance and gained two places before an early safety car was deployed after one of the slick runners was caught out on cold wet tyres.

  • Race 2 (17:30): Abi once again impressed, climbing as high as 6th overall. Sadly, a late fuel issue forced her into retirement before the chequered flag — but not before showing the pace and competitiveness of the Zero.

Abi thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and was very impressed with the car’s performance and handling. With just a few tweaks to seat positioning and setup, we’re confident the Zero will be even stronger at the next outing.

The car is now back with us and already being prepared for its next test night and upcoming Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens race. We’re proud of Abi’s efforts and look forward to seeing her back out on track very soon.
