Lauren’s Journey at GBS: From Apprentice to the Race Track at GBS.....

We’re incredibly proud of Lauren, who has officially passed her Metal Fabrication apprenticeship after four years of studying at West Nottinghamshire College alongside her work at Great British Sports Cars.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Lauren has developed valuable practical skills and engineering knowledge, putting what she has learnt into practice here at GBS. Passing her apprenticeship is a fantastic achievement, and she’s a valued member of our team.

But this is just the beginning! Lauren is keen to continue developing her skills and knowledge through further courses in the future, building on the experience she has gained during her apprenticeship.

Outside the workshop, Lauren has also been making the most of opportunities to get behind the wheel. Her racing journey began in the GBS Zero, and this year she went on to compete in the Mini Club Sport series. She’ll be returning to the series next year, ready for another season of competition!

Last weekend, Lauren enjoyed a particularly special experience at Donington Park, getting behind the wheel of our GBS Zero Race Car for a track day. It was a brilliant opportunity to experience the car’s performance first-hand and enjoy some time on track with the GBS team and in our Zero Race Car.

From developing her fabrication skills in the workshop to building her confidence on the race track, Lauren’s journey is a great example of the opportunities that can come from combining practical engineering experience with a passion for motorsport. We’re delighted to have Lauren as part of the GBS team and look forward to seeing how you continue to develop both in the workshop and out on track.
