Last year a European customer placed an order for a Zero Self Build Generation 2 Custom Kit, the chassis was put into production and produced then the customer decided to upgrade and go with the Zero Roll Cage option.

We have this Zero Self Build chassis with us and its available for sale and immediate dispatch or collection, this is a very rare opportunity and could be the ideal project for someone looking to build a LHD Zero, please see the Zero Spec below-

Another Zero on the way to USA, and another Zero is now fully registered in the USA……

Its great to see that recently another Zero is now fully registered and being enjoyed on the road in the USA. GBS Customer Sean Wally has now completed his Zero build and is now registered, this was painted by us here in the UK then shipped to Sean painted and as a kit, the colour combination is great we all love it! We look forward to receiving more photographs from Sean out and about enjoying his new Zero in the USA.

Earlier this month another Zero Self Build kit was packed and collected that is now on the way to its new owner in USA, and another Zero Race Self Build kit is now being prepared and packed that will also be going to USA very soon.

Last weekend (Saturday 19th March) we held our first GBS Cars & Coffee event of 2022 and it was nice that our USA Representative Paul Barnes was able to join us for the day and will also be back later this week with us to help coordinate the shipments of the ever growing GBS Zero’s that are heading to the USA. Great Weather, Cars and Cake, big thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday (19th March) at GBS for a first Cars and Coffee event of 2022…….They just get better and better each time we hold our GBS Cars & Coffee events, and what a fantastic day we had with a car park full of sports cars. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to you all for joining us and helping us make it such a great event and enjoyable day, it was nice to see so many Zero’s together in the car park along with a wide variety of other sports cars. It was nice to see several new Zero’s that were newly registered also join us for the first time. The gates opened at 10am and by 10.45am the car park was already getting full, the weather was perfect and could not have been better for us.

The GBS and Kit Spares show room was very busy with people and the Kit Spares   was also very busy with sales and enquires. As usual the cakes attracted a lot of attention and certainly went down well with not many left along with the unlimited supply of tea and coffee. We would also like to thank A-Plan Insurance for sponsoring and supporting our event, you can see more about their insurance they offer on our Insurance page.

On Saturday we were pleased that Paul Barnes our USA representative was able to join us for the day, Paul has been over here to help coordinate the shipments of the ever growing GBS Zero’s that are heading to the USA.  Another great thing about our GBS Cars & Coffee events that we love, is that we are able to raise money for our 2 chosen charities which are the Cancer Research UK and The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, we all feel and hope you agree that The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is a fantastic service and has helped & will continue to help many people, as well as the Cancer Research UK that is again a fantastic charity that makes a big difference to so many people and their families. We also decided to collect for Ukraine Crisis, we will let you know how much money we have raised.

The Mazda MX5 (Miata) serves perfectly as a donor for the Zero........

The Zero Mazda Self Build option is a very popular option and the Mazda MX5 (Miata) serves perfectly as a donor for the Zero & is available worldwide. The Mazda MX5 donor Zero utilises (Mk1, Mk2, Mk2.5) from 1989 through 2005 in either right or left hand drive.

Several parts are required from the donor car Engine 1.6 or 1.8, Gearbox, Differential, Front Hubs & Calipers, Rear Hubs & Calipers, Steering Shaft , Steering Column with Stalks, Brake Master Cylinder, Clutch Master Cylinder, Propshaft, Drive Shafts.

You can select from a variety of Zero self build packages to suit all budgets from our starter kit through to a complete kit of components that can be assembled easily by yourself. The GBS Zero range is available as right hand or left hand drive and as a Standard width or GT (grand tourer /wide body) chassis option, which allows greater access and a more comfortable seating position for the taller/larger driver.

Busy with Zero Self Build Kit collections and exports.....

Its been a busy start to the week for the GBS Team with several Zero Self Build Kits being collected. On Monday we welcomed GBS customer Nick Button back to the GBS Factory to collect his Zero Mazda Plus Kit, that also had some nice upgrades and options including the ATR Shock Absorbers and full paint. It was painted in British Racing Green, we have some more Zeros due back from paint soon that we will share with you on our GBS Instagram, so make sure you follow us @gbs_cars. We look forward to following Nick’s Zero Build as it progresses.

A Zero self build kit was also collected that we exported to a customer in the USA, which will be there with the customer next month. Another Zero Race Self build kit is now being prepared along with another that is also going to USA very soon. GBS Zero registered and on the road in New Zealand.....

Its great to see that a GBS Zero GT is now fully registered and on the road being enjoyed in New Zealand. Last year we helped sell this very nice spec Zero for a customer here in the UK and it was bought by a customer in New Zealand. We then helped and arranged the export of the car and then assisted the new owner with getting it registered and on the road in New Zealand.

The Zero range is available in both RHD and LHD and is exported worldwide and later this week we have another Zero Self Build Kit that is being collected that is being exported to USA. Jubilee GBS Run Out in the Zero’s…… Come & join us in your Zero!

Time to bring out your Zeros to celebrate our Queens Jubilee this year…… We are organising a fabulous ‘Jubilee GBS Run Out’ to show off bespoke British excellence in honour of our Queen. This is an invitation to all the GBS Zero owners out there to come and join us on this special occasion.

We love getting out in our Zero demonstrators when we can and we know you do too, so let us have more fun and drive together to a beautiful location via scenic countryside. Looking at a Zero on the road is exciting enough, imagine looking at us all together on the road!

The Queen’s 70th year as the Queen has given us another opportunity to show off in style and we want you to be a part of it. We are planning this to happen on the Bank Holiday weekend that is happening in June and plan for the Run Out to happen on Thursday 2nd June where we will meet at GBS to then go onto enjoy a drive out in the Zero’s together.

Transform your Zero with bespoke Vehicle Graphic Design.....

Eye catching graphics can transform your Zero and make it stand out from the crowd even more with bespoke vehicle graphics which can be truly individual to you.
We are now working with a local Graphic and printing company and together we are able to offer this bespoke design service for your Zeros.
This Zeros vehicle graphics was designed between the customer and ourselves and the influence came from the customers Yamaha motor bike which he wanted to feature in the same style and keep the same colour scheme. This Zero is now back in the GBS Workshop and will soon be back with the customer for the build to continue, this Zero build is the Ultimate Self Assembly kit which which will be powered by the Ford Duratec engine.

GBS Update about the Autosport International Show 2022....

The Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham is one of our favourite shows of the year and is always a very busy start to the year for the team as we are busy preparing for it. We should all be there next week with the Zeros, but sadly this year it has been postponed due to Covid, but we look forward to the event hopefully going ahead later in the year when a new date is released.

Had the show gone ahead we planned to have this customers Zero build on display over the weekend on our stand along with another Zero, we now plan to have this on display later in the year at other events we are looking at attending.

We are all looking forward to the year ahead, its normally a busy January and start to the year for the GBS Team as we are always busy preparing the GBS Zeros for our first event of the year which is the Autosport International Show. But sadly again this year that is not taking place due to Covid. The GBS 2022 event Calendar is looking a little different to previous years with not many events yet confirmed, but we will be soon listing the events that we are hoping to be at if they are able to go ahead. We are looking forward to our first GBS Cars & Coffee event which we have planned for March, which we will share more details on with you all soon. 2021 has been a very busy & successful year & we look forward to an exciting 2022.....

2021 has been another great year for the GBS team and we have been extremely busy. There are so many photo’s and experiences to share but here are just a few of our favourite photos and moments that we have captured during the year, next year is already looking like it’s going to be another very busy & exciting year for us with lots happening. We have lots of exciting things to share with you all in the new year!

This year we have seen a lot stunning Zeros come through the workshop that have been painted. Paint is now becoming one of our most popular options and upgrades.

Our engineering & fabrication department has been very busy with some exciting projects & development work. Next year looks to be busy and exciting too! Click here to read more about our GBS Engineering.

With the Covid restrictions in place, we only managed to organise one run out in the Zeros. It was a great day and everyone enjoyed it, we look forward to planning more Zero Run Outs next year.

Last month it was great to welcome Paul Barnes our USA representative back to GBS for a few days after over a year of not being able to visit due to Covid travel restrictions.

The Zero Motul Edition has been a fantastic project for us this year. The whole GBS Team has been involved with this and are very proud of it and excited about next years plans!

We have been able to host 3 of our GBS Cars & Coffee events this year, with big plans next year to do more of these events and more often. All are welcome to join in any car! #GBSCarsandcoffee

The Zero Motul Ediiton was on the main Motul Stand at this years Silverstone Classic Show, where it was revealed for the very first time. This was a fantastic time for the team.

Customer soon to enjoy their second Zero on the road.....

We currently have a very nice Zero with us in the workshop that we recently prepared and presented for its IVA test which is owned by GBS customer Jim Burge. This is Jim’s second Zero build that he has enjoyed and Jim has kindly wrote a few words about his journey of building his two Zeros.

My GBS journey ...
So back in 2014 I made the decision to embark on my own personal challenge of building a GBS ZERO...
My years as a Ford technician became invaluable in enabling me to work through the build but with the confidence of the guys at GBS at the end of a phone to help when needed.
Build completed after 2 years and GBS White was registered and on the road in September 2016.

Lots of fun times enjoyed until I decided it was time to sell up and move on...
What a decision I would quickly regret.
So.. in July 2020, I looked into the GBS Generation 2 Ultimate Kit and decided to go again, this time with a few upgrades as this one was going to be for keeps. The kit was delivered in time for Christmas 2020.
Despite a national pandemic work progressed, this time it felt that the knowledge and experience of the first build made it even more enjoyable and rewarding.
October 2021 GBS Blue was completed and ready for the IVA test which she passed first time.
Now I have the long wait through my choice for Spring 2022 when MY22 GBS is finally registered and ready for the maiden journey..
A huge thank you to Richard, Ruth and all the team at GBS for their help and advice and always being in at the end of the phone for my endless questions..
