The Lightweight kit incorporates a revolutionary, newly designed body/chassis unit which cleverly is almost self jigging. Whilst we have said it is smaller than previous Robin Hood’s we have designed the engine bay to accommodate a wider ranger of power trains and the interior to accept very tall people.
Designed to accept the Ford Sierra’s differential, drive shafts, rear brakes, handbrake lever, steering column, front stub axles etc. The Ford type 9 or MT75 gearbox are the most obvious rear wheel drive (RWD) gearboxes to use. Virtually any four cylinder engine can be fitted provided that it can be mated to a RWD gearbox.
Obviously motorcycle engines will be a popular choice with builders as these are generally more compact than car engines and produce tremendous power for their compact size.

The Ford Sierra based Project 2B Plus is a high spec kit supplied with stainless steel chassis and panels and a double wishbone front suspension system. An extensive kit requiring in addition a Ford Sierra donor vehicle to be on the road, rear coil over dampers, harnesses, set of five alloy wheels, five Yokohama tyres, stainless steel four branch performance exhaust manifold and silencer and a wiring loom are included in the price! In the Project 2B chassis a true crumple zone area exists directly behind the occupants. Centre long members are formed to absorb impact with a complete frame around the occupants at key protection level, including the roll over bar which is substantially back braced and part of the main chassis structure. The extreme rear of the chassis terminates with two tubes formed in a hoop which holds the spare wheel and number plate, so substantial is this section it could easily be used for a tow bar for a small trailer. Whilst many kit car chassis's finish structurally at the body sides, the Project 2B Plus continues right up to the top of the bonnet level with the full 38mm tubes. To satisfy the protected steering requirements of the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) test, the front chassis extends 10" fore of the steering rack. Extensive side impact protection is available from the braced side tubes again manufactured from 38mm O/D x 2mm wall thickness material. Further protection from piercing comes from the 0.7mm mirror like stainless steel.

ROBIN HOOD SUPERSPEC KIT

Although similar in style and dimensions to the Robin Hood's best seller the Project 2B, every single tube and bracket has been changed in the Super Spec. Additional side diagonal bars and circumferential engine bay tubes beef up the chassis for the engines increased power. The floor has been recessed so that all the adjustments can be utilised on the luxurious Recaro seats. The roll over bar has been changed and is more aesthetically pleasing. It has been made wider to accommodate a larger fuel tank essential for those touring holidays. Also the side screens can now be stored behind the seats when not in use. All Super Spec chassis are made from stainless steel, predominantly 38mm o/d with a 2mm wall thickness, the roll over bar is 50mm o/d and is back braced, it is an important and integral part of the chassis. All the tube joints are internally sleeved for extra strength, the Super Spec chassis offers terrific torsional rigidity, unparallel crash protection and a spacious cockpit.
