If you have tinkered about with cars you will probably have everything you need
|
This is a question that we are often asked, you are bound to think that we will say "yes" as we want to sell you a kit, but that is not the case. If we think the answer is "no", then we will tell you so. Remember we run a unique one to one, telephone, help line, (not a premium rate line, no revenue actually comes to us) which is not just for the first few months while your building your kit, but for the whole time you own a Robin Hood. The last thing we want is somebody on the phone everyday struggling to build his kit. Generally speaking, if someone is very young (still at school) then their experience is usually limited, so we would like to think there was somebody at home or if they were building it as a project at school a teacher who would help them. General questions we ask potential customers are: - Do you service your own car?
- Do you service your own car?
- Change brake pads?
- Check your car for its MOT?
- Change your oil?
- Generally know your way around a car?
If you have done this type of work then you will be OK. Anyone who is in any kind of job using tools; window fitters, joiners, service engineers, maintenance workers, farmers etc All make really good kit car builders. Oh and by the way, women? Certainly yes, why not!
What Tools Will I Need
If you have tinkered about with cars you will probably have everything you need; screwdrivers, spanners, socket set, vice grips, hammer, pop rivet pliers, an electric drill, a mini grinder. You will need to borrow or hire an engine lift or a block and tackle to fit the engine and gearbox.
Medium to high quality tools have never been so reasonably priced and readily available. Send for Machine Marts catalogue 0115 9565555 but not until you have got your kit, as you could get carried away!
